The Plant Sector Representative Organisation

As many of you know the CITB card scheme has been sold to NOCN early this year.

In order for the hire industry to have a training, licensing and certification voice – plans are in place to form The Plant Sector Representative Organisation (PSRO) which would include members of the Scottish Plant Owners Association (SPOA),  Build UK, the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), the Construction Plant Hire Association (CPA), the Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS), the Home Builders Federation (HBF), and the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).

To gain further support for the PSRO an introductory meeting is being held at 10.30 am, Tuesday 26th November 2019 at Stirling Court Hotel, Stirling chaired by the CPA.

The meeting will include a summary of how we got to where we are now, where we are heading and that we need the certificating bodies / card schemes to work with us and for the hire industry.

HSE has also confirmed their support for the initiative and considered it has an important role to play in improving health and safety in the plant sector.

This is your chance to voice your views and opinions – the SPOA Executive Committee would encourage all its members to attend this open meeting.
