This sold out event, sponsored by Jarvie Plant Hire and Scot JCB, saw 40 players and 10 teams battle it out for the Whyte Trophy. We were also delighted to welcome our first female player, Julie Graffen from Simply Asset Finance, this year.
Teams from LocHire/EcoHire, Field & Forest Machinery, Robert Purvis Plant Hire, HRN, Tam Shilliday Plant Hire, Scot JCB, Malcolm Construction Services, Jarvie Plant Hire, Gordon Bow Plant Hire and Simply Asset Finance enjoyed the rugged course at Dirleton Links, known as a “golfer’s golf course” which is challenging to play with its gorse, bunkers, ditches and burns.
It was a close-run competition as can be seen from the scores:
James Fowler from Team LocHire/EcoHire
Max Peacock from Team Field & Forest Machinery
Craig Purvis from Team Robert Purvis Plant Hire
Rylie Bow from Team HRN

Mark McGeough from Team Tam Shilliday Plant Hire
Speaking about this year’s Whyte Trophy SPOA Golf Day, SPOA President David Jarvie said: “What a great day! An amazing course to play and some healthy competition amongst our members in what was a very close game which required the ‘Better Inward Half’ method to determine the winner! Thank you to everyone who participated and to the amazing team at Archerfield Golf Club who looked after us so well.”
